Why is INFRARED THERMAL RADIATION good for the body?

  • Infrared heats the body from inside and outside.

  • This stimulates blood circulation and the metabolism, and strengthens the immune system.

Bildschirmfoto 2022-07-23 um 15.25.18.png

Why is salt good for the body?

  • Our SALT VITALHEATER releases salt ions during operation and these are inhaled.

  • The same phenomenon can be observed in salt caves or with sea air.

  • The salt clears the airways and is pleasant for allergy sufferers.

How are salt ions released with the SALT VITALHEATER?

  • Essentially, salt attracts moisture. When the salt bricks are heated, the moisture evaporates. When it evaporates, the salt ions are carried with the moisture and are then distributed in the air you breathe.

  • Some of our customers report that the air in the room tastes slightly salty when using the SALT VITALHEATER.

  • The ion release was measured by us using a Holbach ionometer.

What are the disadvantages of convection heating compared to infrared heating?

Warming the air (convection heating) has several disadvantages:

  • Dust turbulence:  Warm air rises, cools and sinks again. This moves particles in space that are inhaled. This is especially a problem for allergy sufferers.
Objects and bodies are heated directly by infrared radiation. There is hardly any dust or pollen turbulence.

  • Mold growth: If the temperature of the walls is lower than the air in the room, moisture forms and promotes the development of mold.
Infrared warms the walls directly. This prevents mold developing.

  • Temperature drop while ventilating: A classic problem that everyone knows. It's cosy and warm inside, but fresh air needs to enter the room from time to time. You open the window and it gets cold. Even after you have closed it again, it takes some time before the room is comfortably warm again. This is because the warm air is replaced by cold air during ventilation. If the walls / objects in a room are heated instead of the air, as is the case with IR heating technology, it becomes comfortably warm again immediately after ventilation.

  • Dry air: Dry heating air is certainly not beneficial for the respiratory tract. Many people find that the scalp also suffers as a result of dry air and dandruff can develop. This is not a problem with infrared heaters.

  • Environmental compatibility: Over 80% of all heating systems are operated with fossil fuels. Heating with oil, gas and coal not only generates CO², but also fine dust.
Infrared heaters are powered by electricity. Over 70% of the electricity produced in Austria, for instance, is from renewable energy sources. Conventional products consume twice the amount of energy as our SALT VITALHEATER.

Conventional heating (convection) or infrared HEATING TECHNOLOGY? What's the difference?

  • Infrared radiant heat can only be felt when it strikes surfaces. Radiant heat warms living creatures, as well as furniture, walls and other objects.

  • The air temperature itself is only marginally increased by radiant heat.

  • Conventional radiators powered by electricity or by heating water are energy-consuming.

  • The radiator gives off heat to the surrounding air.

  • The human organism only perceives the warmth as soon as the air is sufficiently warmed.

  • People, walls and objects are warmed by conventional heating technology only indirectly, via the air, i.e. not through direct warmth.

How much electricity does a SALT VITALHEATER consume?

  • Depending on the model, this varies between 300 watts and 1600 watts.

  • Output can be regulated continuously. Depending on the model, it is possible to heat rooms between 10 m² and 25 m² in size.

  • Full output is only required during the 30-minute warm-up phase, after which the salt bricks are warmed and give off heat. Half of the maximum output is then sufficient to ensure constant heat emission.

  • A detailed list of heating areas can be found here.

Bildschirmfoto 2022-06-01 um 16.07.08.png

How efficiently does the SALT VITALHEATER convert the energy it consumes into warmth?

  • 95% of the energy consumed is directly converted into warmth, and the remaining 5% is perceived as a warm glow (zero energy-waste).

  • This corresponds to Energy Efficiency Class A.

How long do salt bricks stay warm after the SALT VITALHEATER has been switched off?

  • For several hours, depending on the room temperature and the temperature of the salt bricks at that time.

  • However, we recommend keeping the SALT VITALHEATER dimmed to the minimum – this allows the most efficient use of energy.

How long does a SALT VITALHEATER last?

  • We provide a 10 year guarantee on the salt bricks, and the legal warranty periods apply for electrical parts.

  • If the salt is not damaged by force or too much moisture, it can last for centuries.

  • The base is made of oak and will last for decades if no damage occurs from external sources.

  • Although the electrical components are of high quality, malfunction is possible: Therefore we always keep in stock every single part/module and these can easily be exchanged even after the warranty period has expired.

What happens if I break something?

  • Tell us what exactly is defective so that we can send you a replacement immediately. This ensures that your SALT VITALHEATER is ready for use again as soon as possible.

  • Exchange the defective module and send it back to us in the same box.

  • The defective module will be reprocessed by us. After the warranty period, you can therefore purchase a used "exchange module" from another customer at a cheap price, instead of purchasing a new one.

  • Together we save resources, and therefore reduce the environmental impact and costs. It's how we operate in a healthy, circular economy.

Can the SALT VITALHEATER be recycled?

  • Yes, 98% of the materials used are recyclable.

  • The salt components are of table salt quality and can be consumed by humans or animals.

  • The base, made of wood, can be used for heating.

  • Stainless steel parts can be used to make new stainless steel.

  • The remaining 2% are mainly electrical components that “consume” themselves.

Bildschirmfoto 2022-06-01 um 16.21.00.png

Is the SALT VITALHEATER environmentally friendly?

  • Yes. Most heating systems based on long-distance heating burn up to 85% fossil fuels, which produces CO2 as well as a lot of fine dust.

  • In Austria, for instance, more than 70% of the electricity is generated from renewable energies. And this is an upward trend.

  • Because the SALT VITALHEATER consumes 50% less electricity than other radiators, using one contributes to IR thermal technology as a source of heat soon becoming 100% ecological.

Bildschirmfoto 2022-07-23 um 16.29.58.png

Can the SALT VITALHEATER be set up outdoors or in damp rooms?

  • Although this is possible in principle, the SALT VITALHEATER should then be in non-stop operation with an output of at least 100 watts. The temperature of the bricks should always be at least 1° C higher than the air temperature.

  • Otherwise the salt bricks absorb too much moisture from the air and can be damaged. The relative humidity at the place of installation should not be more than 50%.

Bildschirmfoto 2022-06-03 um 16.47.37.png

If the SALT VITALHEATER warms like the sun,  do you also receive vitamin D3

  • No, UV-B radiation on the skin is required to produce vitamin D3; this is not released by infrared heating.
